The Manager misses posting more regularly and is looking for new inspiration. Welcome to "<a href="http://locominutes.posterous.com/" target="_blank"><font color="#ff0000">The Lo.Co. Meeting Minutes</font></a>," where you'll see shorter, but more frequent, updates on our workday. </p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-4076486101501362062010-10-01T10:00:00.000-04:002010-10-01T10:10:39.612-04:00Windy Skies<ul> <ul> <li>It’s been a bit rainy this week – so rainy that J!m <a href="mailto:C@ntore">C@ntore</a> might have come to town. Mostly this has been all right regarding Cabin Fever issues, although the Outsourcer was canceled on Thursday. The Wednesday Night Shift was probably the worst of the storm, with a few power surges in the office. K.Lo woke up screaming a few times, and continued to wake up on the Thursday Night Shift, still a bit traumatized and skeptical that the wind was really gone. </li> </ul> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>N.Lo has a night light in his room, but lately wants his door all but completely open at night with the hall bathroom lights on. Management has tried turning them off after he is fully asleep, but early-morning complaints about the light ensue. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr0cfg2YI/AAAAAAAAB70/Az_KNPjp8-8/s1600-h/Popcorn%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Popcorn" border="0" alt="Popcorn" align="right" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr1GzzyNI/AAAAAAAAB74/HxuTobNt1c0/Popcorn_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>K.Lo and I braved Target yesterday morning – and actually, it was basically just raining outside, and not very hard, for that matter. The store was pleasantly un-crowded, and K.Lo enjoyed some popcorn while wearing a witch hat from the dollar bin. She also asked for just about everything in the store that was shiny, cute or adorned with Hello Kitty. Her latest costume idea evolved from a butterfly cheerleader to a cheerleader witch, and later, back at the office, she practiced her best cackle and the line, “Give me back my shoes!” </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Each morning we <strike>fuss at</strike> work with K.Lo for chatting too much and too loudly before everyone in the office is fully awake – particularly N.Lo, who with his door wide open, tends to wake up before he is ready, which then affects the rest of his work day. This morning, K.Lo popped right in to N.Lo’s room to see if he was awake, and N.Lo complained, “No, I’m not done <em>sleeping</em>.” Sigh. <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr1aC1ioI/AAAAAAAAB78/stSwZEE0rqs/wlEmoticon-smile%5B2%5D.png?imgmax=800" /></li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>A main objective of our Target trip, aside from refilling the office pantry, was obtaining cake mix and icing for a birthday cake. Whose birthday cake? Benny Baby, who apparently turned 4 yesterday. And Benny Baby, in case you didn’t know, likes pink icing and Jasmine. Our office likes cake, so why argue? We lit candles and sang, too.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr2FFaRxI/AAAAAAAAB8A/GOI_44ahr0M/s1600-h/P1060113%5B6%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060113" border="0" alt="P1060113" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr2R1n0cI/AAAAAAAAB8E/uGrjnhcepFQ/P1060113_thumb%5B3%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="164" height="219" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr3dPCUmI/AAAAAAAAB8I/UxGISkQmv0Y/s1600-h/P1060126%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060126" border="0" alt="P1060126" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TKXr3udStcI/AAAAAAAAB8M/8KDR1w_wDL4/P1060126_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="363" height="219" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-23916301917570122502010-09-28T21:46:00.001-04:002010-09-28T21:46:19.372-04:00Employee Files<ul> <li>Currently, K.Lo has a yellow sheet of paper taped to her TV. I’m not really sure what this is all about, although K.Lo seems to like seeing the colorful “shadows” at night. Who is the Manager to argue with an employee’s creativity. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo likes to say about certain songs, “It has a good beat!” </li> </ul> <p> </p> <li>Our office is relocating, eventually, and Management decided to tell the employees because, well, it would be really hard not to tell K.Lo. She has a lot of questions, that one. And Management feels, considering K.Lo’s work style, that it’s best to let her process over time, rather than dropping a bomb last-minute. Sure enough, K.Lo is alternately excited and nervous about this move, to the extent that she can wrap her mind around it. Mainly, she wants to know if we’ll be taking specific supplies with us to the new office, although occasionally she’ll mention other concerns, such as what the new Outsourcer will be like, or whether there will be places to play. The Manager gives answers to the best of her knowledge <strike>while secretly worrying about their truth</strike>. We <em>are </em>looking forward to a new location! </li> <p> </p> <ul> <li>N.Lo is mainly oblivious to the upcoming relocation, as he should be. However, as some days at the now well-familiar Outsourcer are still difficult, the Manager has a bit of nerves about starting all. over. again. At a new Outsourcer. Which we will hopefully find. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo, having an active imagination as well as access to television commercials and water-cooler talk at the Outsourcer, comes up with new items every day for her Christmas/Birthday Wish List. (It’s a collective entity, at this point.) She practices what she’ll tell Santa, and likes to actually <em>see</em> the list that’s stored on the Manager’s computer. Recent additions were a scooter, roller skates, <em>Beauty and the Beast </em>a Lalaloopsy Doll and a backscratcher. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>N.Lo lately does things on his own time, in his own way, and it’s best not to mess with him – which is why training in the Employee Rest Room has all but come to a halt. Although recently, he did randomly discover the art of peeing in the potty while standing up. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The Manager realizes N.Lo’s 3rd Date of Hire Anniversary is fast approaching, but don’t ask her about it, please. She has no idea, on anything. </li> </ul> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-14286610531235770852010-09-18T10:30:00.000-04:002010-09-18T10:45:29.907-04:00Photo Series ~ N.Lo, Haircut<p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQZW9NNxI/AAAAAAAAB5s/LAf-2LxDeLg/s1600-h/P1060010%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060010" border="0" alt="P1060010" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQZ97YZII/AAAAAAAAB5w/W9k_gEJz4-Q/P1060010_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="258" height="343" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQbD4R8TI/AAAAAAAAB50/VhSeIKpvMxk/s1600-h/P1060013%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060013" border="0" alt="P1060013" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQbcU11lI/AAAAAAAAB54/xxS33VLgYe0/P1060013_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="260" height="200" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQeWeLULI/AAAAAAAAB58/LyQzl3nx_Jg/s1600-h/P1060015%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060015" border="0" alt="P1060015" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQenThpRI/AAAAAAAAB6A/wVFgzsz1JHU/P1060015_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="260" height="200" /></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQfayqT-I/AAAAAAAAB6E/o7ZXtctcx-o/s1600-h/P1060016%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060016" border="0" alt="P1060016" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQfxic_PI/AAAAAAAAB6M/9LCyJWeQW4Y/P1060016_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="258" height="343" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQgia6KWI/AAAAAAAAB6Q/dxpWH6Ys0as/s1600-h/P1060017%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060017" border="0" alt="P1060017" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQg7h3L-I/AAAAAAAAB6U/Z1peEzM4FMM/P1060017_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="258" height="343" /></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQhyczebI/AAAAAAAAB6Y/tzTspIKfIhE/s1600-h/P1060019%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1060019" border="0" alt="P1060019" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TJTQicEkuTI/AAAAAAAAB6c/QRUP0Fl3VvM/P1060019_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="321" height="428" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-85953558488456045772010-09-07T23:00:00.000-04:002010-09-08T08:25:57.648-04:00Employee Files<ul> <li><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9JDoddWI/AAAAAAAAB5E/oQXQb_108Vs/s1600-h/P1050869%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050869" border="0" alt="P1050869" align="right" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9JyAlgEI/AAAAAAAAB5I/0j0xETpqWNs/P1050869_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244" /></a>In the cafeteria, N.Lo has overtaken the Manager’s chair. Seems to be a permanent restructuring. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>N.Lo’s also had a vague cold for the past few days, or maybe it’s been the past few weeks. Symptoms are mainly a cough and crankiness. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo matter-of-factly pointed out said crankiness this morning to the Manager, after observing N.Lo grumbling to the CEO, “No, don’t talk to me,” in an otherwise upbeat conversation. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Crankiness comes in the form of Twoville Tactics, usually regarding order of operations. In other words, Management requests employee action, and employee firmly states, “No,” followed by a condition (“I’ll put on my shoes/color this paper/finish my breakfast <em>first</em>.”). Then, he might or might not follow up on his own condition, and basically it is a very long tug-of-war process to get anything accomplished, much less get out the office door… </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>N.Lo continues to sustain regular injuries, the latest of which have been two badly skinned knees from falling on the concrete outside, as well as a face scrape incurred during a light-sabre fight at a party. (True story. He held his own.) </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>He’s very aware of rules and whether K.Lo is following them, particularly if she uses a “bathroom word,” or if she interrupts Management. He will note firmly, or wearily, depending on the situation, “No, don’t say that, that’s a bathroom word.” Or, “K.Lo, Daddy’s <em>talking </em>right now.” </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Said interruptions of Managerial convos happen regularly. Frequently. All the time. We might be working on that one for awhile with our little chatterbox.  </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo and the CEO had worked out a deal last week regarding Good Behavior and the purchase of a certain black dress from Kohl’s. She earned said dress last Thursday and has been wearing it ever since. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The CEO also picked up a few shirts for N.Lo, who insisted on wearing both at the same time. </li> </ul> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9K7N-ujI/AAAAAAAAB5M/eurPzkjA7ss/s1600-h/P1050994%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050994" border="0" alt="P1050994" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9LbWfqOI/AAAAAAAAB5Q/2oYvQToAtjU/P1050994_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244" /></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9Mhnqy_I/AAAAAAAAB5U/oax4I7poup4/s1600-h/P1050996%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050996" border="0" alt="P1050996" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9ND_WhFI/AAAAAAAAB5Y/qvwg0016JiY/P1050996_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244" /></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9OoOO3MI/AAAAAAAAB5c/GTKxnQ6QYmA/s1600-h/P1050997%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050997" border="0" alt="P1050997" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9PRREDII/AAAAAAAAB5g/8eZ6ooQ2pIc/P1050997_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244" /></a></p> <p> </p> <li>It’s September, and K.Lo’s excited about the prospect of Sunday school starting up again. “It’s <em>September??</em> That means I get to do the PRAYER TABLE! And the ALTAR TABLE!” etc. (These are learning stations, of sorts, in our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, which she clearly loves very much.) <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo is and always has been a “What are we doing tomorrow?” kind of girl. She likes having something to look forward to, as well as understanding what day it is in the normal routine. Lately, she asks what we’re doing not just tomorrow, but also the day after, and the day after that, and the day after that, until the Manager really has no idea what we’re doing anymore, at least not so far in advance… </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>She continues to like to write names, mostly her own, and sometimes remembers all the letters. They might or might not appear in order, but they are usually all on the page, somewhere. Progress!</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Today the Manager asked, exasperated, “How many times do I have to ask?” And she very cheekily replied, “Three.” Sigh. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9Qh3sNXI/AAAAAAAAB5k/oDvd_-bcvbs/s1600-h/P1050990%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050990" border="0" alt="P1050990" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TIb9Q9WVZ0I/AAAAAAAAB5o/sjWl4dIZiuA/P1050990_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="184" height="244" /></a> </li> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-44300079598446759892010-09-03T22:15:00.000-04:002010-09-03T22:29:05.744-04:00Photo Series ~ Outsourcer<p>When the Regional Manager comes along to pick up the employees from the Outsourcer, you get pictures! She also likes to ask whether <em>you’re</em> scared of the thunder. (The correct answer is, “No, of course not!”) </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>“I don’t cry at preschool anymore. And I’m not shy of people.” This is sometimes – dare I say mostly – true. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>On the first day of school: “And I saw my friends x, y, and z! They all came back! Just like two months ago! It was like a big party!” I’m not sure how long the excitement will last, but today was a good day. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>I hadn’t pushed the issue of a new school year with the employees, as K.Lo seemed puzzled over a “new” situation, when she was already established in the 4-year-old room through summer camp. Didn’t want to stress out the employee needlessly. But with new backpacks (K.Lo’s wish) and some old faces returned, I think she “got” it. And was much more pleased than expected! </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>“Mommy, you like my new dress?” “I <em>love</em> your new dress. You look like you could be on Fashion Show [which is what we call ProjectRunway].” “<em>Whaaat</em>? Fashion Show! Mommy, Fashion Show doesn’t exist on the earth.” Since it was on TV, K.Lo assumed “pretend.” Which is not necessarily a bad thing. However, I explained that ProjectRunway does indeed exist on this earth. She said, “Where?” And I told her, “In New York City, where your cousin lives.” She said, “Oh!” </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Also, I love when she says, “<em>Whaaat?</em>” like you are saying the craziest thing ever. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>A recent outdoor art project, completely devised by K.Lo, was “painting” the deck with a bucket of water and a broom, like it’s a giant canvas. Love it. Made me think of our trip to the <a href="http://peneloccupation.blogspot.com/2010/06/zoo.html" target="_blank">zoo</a>, with the giant chalkboard wall. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/THcXAdDSnSI/AAAAAAAAB28/gRGSrxJV9-A/s1600-h/P1050989%5B5%5D%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050989[5]" border="0" alt="P1050989[5]" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/THcXA5Hjd2I/AAAAAAAAB3A/h7gGMPy1OmE/P1050989%5B5%5D_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="407" height="317" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/THcXBwZ2RAI/AAAAAAAAB3E/05goylaXaDQ/s1600-h/P1050988%5B5%5D%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050988[5]" border="0" alt="P1050988[5]" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/THcXCWhUKPI/AAAAAAAAB3I/gYLybj1OrKM/P1050988%5B5%5D_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="302" height="402" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/THcXDuWI5KI/AAAAAAAAB3M/S-TrlxxTnMs/s1600-h/P1050987%5B6%5D%5B10%5D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 0px 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1050987[6]" border="0" alt="P1050987[6]" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/THcXEM9bGHI/AAAAAAAAB3Q/kRMtB-NByMg/P1050987%5B6%5D_thumb%5B8%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="304" height="458" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-3020624595850452832010-08-20T20:00:00.000-04:002010-08-20T21:04:18.543-04:00Company Excursion: Life + Science Museum<p>On Monday, the Lo. Co. went on a company excursion with the Regional Manager to a previously unexplored Life + Science Museum. We enjoyed a (pretend) dinosaur walk, a small farm tour, a fossil dig, a butterfly house, a brief black bear sighting, a train ride, and a musical jam session with sticks, bells and drums. After lunch, we learned about weather, geology, space travel, and various small creatures (not all of them lovely). The employees were very well behaved on this excellent excursion! Here are photo highlights. </p> <p> </p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:66721397-FF69-4ca6-AEC4-17E6B3208830:b4e0f108-8f80-4e7c-809f-49dc07d9520e" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent"><table><tbody><tr><td><a style="border:0px" target="_blank" href="https://cid-5e66274d02663d0a.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=play&resid=5E66274D02663D0A!409&type=5&authkey=9xp2tdbjOUo%24"><img style="border:0px" alt="View album" title="View album" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG8mEYozoXI/AAAAAAAAB24/ZNec1ly5Nk4/InlineRepresentation8fabeb1e-dbb3-4e5f-837e-89c8b4d37f70%5B12%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" /></a><div style='width:563px;text-align:center;overflow:visible;'> <div style='width:563px;overflow:visible;'><a style="text-decoration:none;" href="https://cid-5e66274d02663d0a.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=browse&resid=5E66274D02663D0A!409&type=5&authkey=9xp2tdbjOUo%24" target="_blank"><span style="line-height:1.26em;padding:0px;width:563px;font-size:26pt;font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;" defaultText='Enter album name here'>life science museum</span></a></div> <div style="text-align:center;padding:9px 0px 0px 0px;margin:0px 0px 0px 0px;font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:8pt;"> <table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 style="margin:0px;padding:0px;outline:none;border-style:none;border-collapse:collapse;"> <tr> <td style="outline:none;border-style:none;margin:0px;padding:6px 12px 6px 0px;"><a href="https://cid-5e66274d02663d0a.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=play&resid=5E66274D02663D0A!409&type=5&authkey=9xp2tdbjOUo%24" border="0" target="_blank" style="font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:8pt;outline:none;border-style:none;text-decoration: none;padding:0px;margin:0px;">VIEW SLIDE SHOW</a></td> <td style="outline:none;border-style:none;margin:0px;padding:6px 0px 6px 0px;"><a href="" border="0" target="_blank" style="font-family:'Segoe UI', helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:8pt;outline:none;border-style:none;text-decoration: none;padding:0px;margin:0px;">DOWNLOAD ALL</a></td> </tr> </table> </div> </div></td></tr></tbody></table></div> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-44181856817853561602010-08-20T15:00:00.000-04:002010-08-20T15:34:19.342-04:00Employee Files<ul> <li><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YsfUgoeI/AAAAAAAAB2Y/GH3d8ke0V8E/s1600-h/P10509784.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="P1050978" border="0" alt="P1050978" align="right" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YstELyxI/AAAAAAAAB2c/gjsHaF171C4/P1050978_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="260" height="200" /></a>What does one do with an employee who is always falling asleep in his cubicle, taking unscheduled breaks? It’s a bit concerning. N.Lo’s missed dinner more than a handful of times over the past few weeks, and today slept in until 9AM, only to have an 11AM meltdown, followed by a self-imposed nap. Perhaps it’s a growth spurt, or simply a new work habit? The Kitchen Staff wonders if the employee needs more iron… </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7Ys_FoZdI/AAAAAAAAB2g/3udFU-a35S0/s1600-h/P10509844.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="P1050984" border="0" alt="P1050984" align="right" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YtKJEV5I/AAAAAAAAB2k/_OyDw8K6FjE/P1050984_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>K.Lo requested that I blow-dry her hair yesterday. The blow-dryer is, after 4 1/2 years, finally not a terrifying machine, but a curiosity. As K.Lo often bathes before bed and sleeps on wet hair, the outcome of the daytime blow-dry produced quite a different effect. It’s kind of lovely! </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YthT4HCI/AAAAAAAAB2o/3NqbElEiKgw/s1600-h/P10509824.jpg"></a></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YuNWXWJI/AAAAAAAAB2s/4eKsjKAq6pQ/s1600-h/P10509814.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="P1050981" border="0" alt="P1050981" align="right" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YuYvCwqI/AAAAAAAAB2w/XOkSt2QWH5U/P1050981_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>N.Lo’s been drawing people, specifically the CEO. In fact, most pictures are both <em>of </em>the CEO and <em>for</em> the CEO. It’s best not to suggest otherwise, being so presumptuous as to think the picture is, for instance, for you. Because you would be wrong.  </li> </ul> <p>    </p> <p></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YthT4HCI/AAAAAAAAB2o/3NqbElEiKgw/s1600-h/P10509824.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: 0px" title="P1050982" border="0" alt="P1050982" align="right" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TG7YulO4cqI/AAAAAAAAB20/Y4LBtIr4HzE/P1050982_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>K.Lo, being four and a HALF (do not, under any circumstances, leave out the “half”), as well as TALL, feels the world unjust as far as what she is and is not allowed to do. Isn’t 4 1/2 years old practically grown-up? Isn’t she, as she suggested the other day, going to be a teenager soon? In some cases, the employee’s spirit cannot be quashed, and the Manager finds it best to simply let her try a desired activity, such as painting her own fingernails. But in other instances, such as painting office <em>walls</em>, Management must officially deny the request. That one’s for grown-ups, kid, sorry. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>One of K.Lo’s favorite things to do lately is ask me words to spell, so she can copy out all the letters on paper. Usually it’s our names, sometimes it’s objects from around the room. N.Lo often follows suit, saying all the same things, but drawing his own version of the letters. “Mommy, how do you spell my name? [writes a ‘letter’] Okay, and what else?” </li> </ul> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-16561686726482667882010-08-13T08:45:00.000-04:002010-08-13T08:58:00.947-04:00Work Tunes<p>At the Outsourcer this week, the employees have been singing that old favorite about the peanut. </p> <p><em>A peanut sitting on a railroad track, </em></p> <p><em>His heart was all a flutter. </em></p> <p><em>Around the bend came Number 10</em></p> <p><em>Toot Toot Peanut Butter</em></p> <p><em></em></p> <p>Accompanying art: </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TGVBVJ5ZdWI/AAAAAAAAB2M/6VlmzGIl6hI/s1600-h/P1050897%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050897" border="0" alt="P1050897" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TGVBVj5tPPI/AAAAAAAAB2Q/tr4Do3Qedr0/P1050897_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a> </p> <p> </p> <p>And a performance! He “transitions” better between activities, doesn’t cry (as much) at drop-off. Is actually playing when I pick him up instead of lurking on the fringes. His teachers say he doesn’t actually play with the toys too much during free-play, but always wants to help clean up. They say there’s always one kid who actually likes helping, and that’s him. That’s my boy.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>He’s had a lingering cold with a cough for over a week now. Sheesh. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>He must be growing again. In addition to the falls, trips, spills, bruises, cuts, and bumps, he is sleeping more. Although that could be the cold as well. For the past three nights, he’s fallen asleep before bedtime, and tonight he fell asleep before dinner. Aw. Every time I change his PJs and put him to bed, and he doesn’t stir. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>He’s talking more, not necessarily in a more advanced way, but in a chattier way. He volunteers more information. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>He’s on a “good guys” and “bad guys” kick and it’s interesting to see how he assigns those two roles. In a surlier mood, he’ll say about himself, “I’m not going to do that because <em>I’m BAD</em>.” Hmm. He hasn’t picked up that descriptor at the Lo.Co. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>In the car the other day, he very carefully pieced together a question: “Mommy, why is the sky blue?” Huh. Kids really ask that. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TF4CfVMiz0I/AAAAAAAAB08/4QY4Ok9E-7k/s1600-h/P1050872%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050872" border="0" alt="P1050872" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TF4CgB5S39I/AAAAAAAAB1A/zdjLJZJYYsI/P1050872_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="298" height="387" /></a> </p> <p><font size="1">Headed down the hall with a broom. </font></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-32346576293577057252010-08-03T16:00:00.000-04:002010-08-03T16:03:36.551-04:00Photo Files<p>What else has been happening at the Lo.Co.? </p> <p>A little bit of Mrs. Potato Head design…</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TFh15vM6cXI/AAAAAAAABzo/qEwrsEukVF0/s1600-h/P1050845%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050845" border="0" alt="P1050845" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TFh157qIS3I/AAAAAAAABzs/hL_DRkSqCjc/P1050845_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TFh16vd2dgI/AAAAAAAABzw/dlqtabYUnks/s1600-h/P1050846%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050846" border="0" alt="P1050846" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TFh16505rqI/AAAAAAAABz0/eH53egxPwZE/P1050846_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TFh18Lsl0vI/AAAAAAAABz4/VL_UJNP1VQ0/s1600-h/P1050847%5B2%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050847" border="0" alt="P1050847" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TFh18ct11CI/AAAAAAAABz8/zi65oPIwLD4/P1050847_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="244" height="184" /></a> </p> <p> </p> <p>The CEO and employees created new wind chimes using pieces of an old set, along with some spoons. His ended up worse than mine, however, with lots of sniffles and coughing today. Yesterday, his energy was still up, so he did go to preschool, upon his own insistence. “I am <em>not</em> sick!” But then he cried at drop-off. Managers can’t win! I told the teacher to call me if he acted sluggish, but he ended up staying the whole time and having a reportedly “great day.” </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The employees made paper plate pinwheels attached to a ribbon at the Outsourcer, and at K.Lo’s request, each are hanging from their respective beds. Cute. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The Purchasing Department didn’t realize we were so low on Pull-Ups, so N.Lo spent the entire work day training in the Employee Rest Room. Only one accident! The Manager felt like a broken record with the number of times she reminded the employee to use the potty, but still. What an achievement! He wore pants and/or underpants for much of the day as well. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The Manager notices a pattern with employee work styles, especially in regards to office supplies. N.Lo uses toys in a fairly standard manner – not saying he lacks imagination, but tools stay with tools, cars stay with cars, etc. K.Lo, on the other hand, is a master re-purposer, always has been. She loves to fill containers with tiny pieces of a game or set and call it something else. One of my favorite recent instances of re-purposing came with a set of puffy Hello Kitty stickers. She invited us each to pick one, and whichever one we wore on our shirt, we were instructed to say (or sing), “Such-and-such pow-er! Ksssssh.” I picked a seed packet sticker, so it was “Seed pack-et power! Ksssssh.” Like some cartoon she watches, I’m not sure which. One’s super-hero power is contained within the sticker – or badge.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo has also been asking to wear makeup, usurping a small makeup kit of the Manager’s, with the CEO’s permission to use it <em>at home</em>, only when <em>playing</em>, in the <em>Manager’s presence</em>. Because we don’t want her to be one of those scary small children who wear makeup. But when playing (at home, playing, in the Manager’s presence), the results are interesting, indeed. :) You look great, K.Lo! </li> </ul> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-59204300431919073952010-07-24T14:15:00.000-04:002010-07-24T14:23:19.328-04:00Training Session ~ Kitchen Staff<p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEsvidPdDCI/AAAAAAAABzI/_IJMFa5TWN4/s1600-h/P1050841%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050841" border="0" alt="P1050841" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEsvirlKJRI/AAAAAAAABzM/KjtWKVU_e0w/P1050841_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>        <a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEsvjcMjW6I/AAAAAAAABzQ/7nQWQWjF620/s1600-h/P1050843%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050843" border="0" alt="P1050843" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEsvj1JVZjI/AAAAAAAABzU/I5CBtcjg2Vs/P1050843_thumb%5B3%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEsvlFklCgI/AAAAAAAABzY/IaDN3ewA6xA/s1600-h/P1050844%5B5%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; margin-left: 0px; border-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050844" border="0" alt="P1050844" align="left" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEsvlgKcqWI/AAAAAAAABzc/MMPQOKcgeEs/P1050844_thumb%5B3%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="325" height="422" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-42076261654911102032010-07-23T22:25:00.000-04:002010-07-23T22:31:37.925-04:00Employee Files<ul> <li>N.Lo has been training in the Employee Rest Room pretty much every afternoon while at the office. Still no pants. The Manager wonders when we’ll be able to make that transition, but otherwise, he seems to get it. Proud! He likes to be called a “rock star” for any successes. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo loves to push some buttons, particularly at the end of the day when it is cleanup time. Management is kind with instructions and reminders until about the 5th time, when our tone shifts. The other evening, she lost use of her Candy Land and I Spy games for hiding in the closet instead of picking them up and putting them away. K.Lo, K.Lo… come on. We don’t ask much. However, the Manager found her comment a few mornings later very interesting: “I’m not going to play with toys in my room today, because I don’t want to clean them up later.” Hmmm. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo has really clicked with bike riding (with training wheels, anyway) and rides circles and circles and more circles around the concrete area in the backyard. So fun to watch. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>For some reason, both employees demand cheese every morning from the Kitchen Staff. “Don’t forget the cheese!” Mozza sticks and cheddar are the favorites. Since they are healthy fare, the Kitchen Staff usually abides. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Yesterday at the Outsourcer (also known as the Gulag), each employee made an art project with a paper plate attached to a pretend placement and ants stamped across the scene. It was to go along with “The Ants Go Marching.” Really cute stuff, but moments after I brought the projects out to the Conference Room to take a closer look, I noticed a ginormous ant of reddish hue on the couch arm, as though it had materialized straight from the art. So weird. I hope it didn’t have friends. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>The other day at Exercise Place (EP), the ladies informed me that K.Lo played guitar and sang to everyone for about an hour. That’s my girl. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>K.Lo loves a particular commercial on TV – ironically for feminine products – where a woman strides down the staircase and out the door, shedding layers of fashionable clothing. “She has so many clothes!” Today (keeping in mind it was upper 90s, free of the heat index), she donned no less than 3 dresses and a tank top. And a jump rope necklace. And a plastic drum for a hat, temporarily. When I picked her up from EP, she was wearing just two dresses, and promptly asked for one more (which was around her waist only) to be removed. Kind of like the commercial, over a 2-hour time span. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>N.Lo, picking up cues from his coworker, shouts “What?!” in response to, “N.Lo!” Also, I’ve heard him saying, “WhatEVer,” mostly to himself. Good thing. :)</li> </ul> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-71909517718464498142010-07-19T08:00:00.000-04:002010-07-19T08:06:58.693-04:00The Ever-Cool Canine Staff<p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEQ_3XzbjMI/AAAAAAAABzA/STpjVRR4dgM/s1600-h/P1050839%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050839" border="0" alt="P1050839" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEQ_4nPjjTI/AAAAAAAABzE/DBsH1WDWl78/P1050839_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="319" height="415" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-79717888398375275292010-07-18T22:15:00.000-04:002010-07-18T22:22:54.013-04:00One Fell Off and Bumped His Head<p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEO2-zumpRI/AAAAAAAAByw/RWkD9WCeJQs/s1600-h/P1050674%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px 5px 0px 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050674" border="0" alt="P1050674" align="left" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TEO2_YpH2UI/AAAAAAAABy0/iWSq3NHzk-8/P1050674_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>N.Lo has perhaps gone through a recent growth spurt, or else the Manager’s unfortunate Klutz Gene has begun to manifest itself. If there’s a way to bonk his head on some furniture, he’ll find it. He trips. He spills things constantly, especially bowls of snacks. Sometimes two and three times for the same snack. Sometimes it’s raisins, which the dogs should not eat, but do anyway, before we can clean it up. Sometimes, his accidents are the direct results of things he isn’t supposed to be doing, but a lot of times, it’s out of the blue and for no reason at all. </p> <p>Is it just a phase? Management hopes so. Mr. Bump, our refrigerated cold-pack, also hopes so, since he’s working overtime. And I’m sure N.Lo, now covered with bumps, bruises and scrapes, also hopes so. </p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-86908375313300576902010-07-15T20:15:00.000-04:002010-07-15T20:42:06.104-04:00Employee Files<ul> <li>Today, neither employee cried at drop-off to the Outsourcer. I won’t say it’s not going to happen ever again, but today, it was pleasant. Refreshing. </li> <li>N.Lo has a chair at the Outsourcer that anchors him. It’s green. He sits there now at drop-off and will often be sitting there when I pick him up. It’s his Safe Place. I’m not arguing. </li> <li>He doesn’t like to talk much about his day there. He might insist that he cried or didn’t have fun, even if it’s not true. When asked about his friends’ names, he thinks a bit and says, “Umm… something.” K.Lo usually offers so much information without us asking and has to be told to pipe down if we want to ask N.Lo anything at all. Funny to see the differences in personalities. </li> <li>We’ve been training here and there with the Employee Rest Room. N.Lo sometimes cares, sometimes doesn’t. He can’t really wear pants to train, not yet. Yesterday, I intended on some afternoon training, but instead he fell asleep on the Conference Room floor. Pants-less. </li> <li>K.Lo lately likes her My Little Pony’s hair to be scented… I don’t know where this came from. But, I’ll spray some scenty stuff from Bath & Body Works there, and she seems satisfied. She’ll tell everyone she sees, “Smell my pony’s hair, doesn’t it smell so good?” Today, N.Lo had a bit of an accident on one of the ponies, and K.Lo said, “Oh no! My pony doesn’t smell good anymore?” Unfortunately, it didn’t. </li> <li>K.Lo likes to say things like, “Mommy, I’m a big girl now! I can hang my clothes in the closet, and pour my own juice, and…” </li> <li>She really can pour her own juice. This involves pulling the big juice container down from the counter, unscrewing the cap, pouring just a little bit, replacing the cap, and filling the rest of the cup with water. She taught herself. After so many years of filling a seemingly endless parade of juice cups, Management nearly fainted. </li> <li>Also, she’s transitioned, for the time being, to calling Management “Mom” and “Dad,” instead of “Mommy” and “Daddy.” I feel it’s too soon. </li> <li>The CEO is working extra (temporarily) at his Other Job, so he’s gone in the morning at the start of the Day Shift. The employees say, “Where’s Daddy?” when they wake up, followed by, “But I forgot to give him a kiss.” It’s a little sad. </li> <li>When Management asks N.Lo to complete a certain task, he often likes to say, “No,” followed by, “Never!” – which he punctuates by stabbing the air overhead with his pointer finger. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>A “negative space” picture drawn by K.Lo on our company excursion last week. </p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n6Ph2waI/AAAAAAAAByQ/phFDmROPCts/s1600-h/P1050830%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050830" border="0" alt="P1050830" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n69StwPI/AAAAAAAAByU/A9OwdTXwhNI/P1050830_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="314" height="243" /></a></p> <p> </p> <p>N.Lo shucks some corn while wearing his coworker’s rain boots. </p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n7cvurWI/AAAAAAAAByY/OhJ63wregaU/s1600-h/P1050831%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050831" border="0" alt="P1050831" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n76fR46I/AAAAAAAAByc/qH9xsSAlOGU/P1050831_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n8ZPxvWI/AAAAAAAAByg/RWxVxd4BiEc/s1600-h/P1050832%5B3%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050832" border="0" alt="P1050832" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n9L4PzKI/AAAAAAAAByk/vcDNB8sBwJc/P1050832_thumb%5B1%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="200" height="260" /></a>  </p> <p> </p> <p>K.Lo, presenting Leaf Frog Art, created today at the Outsourcer by both employees. </p> <p></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n9lWiepI/AAAAAAAAByo/krdpAWQdt9s/s1600-h/P1050834%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050834" border="0" alt="P1050834" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TD-n-ITnqTI/AAAAAAAABys/5FJNMCVtud4/P1050834_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="415" height="248" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-55933265884085872492010-07-07T16:15:00.000-04:002010-07-08T20:48:24.175-04:00Happy 4th of July from the Lake<p>One of our favorite companies was kind enough to host us again at the Lake House this 4th of July, and our whole company, including the Canine Staff, had a blast. N.Lo wasn’t afraid of the water this time, and K.Lo often jumped off the dock without her life jacket—as long as you were there to “jump her off the dock.” (I’m quite sure she could do it all by herself.) We floated, we played, we read, we ate, we lazed. We played Mermaids. We watched fireworks, covered our ears and cried. We stayed up late, but didn’t sleep too badly. The Manager might even have been persuaded to ride a jet ski. And the CEO was maybe even kind enough not to throw her off. </p> <p> </p> <p>With over so many pics to sort through, it’ll have to be an album. (Thanks to Andi and Ash for their mad camera skills…) Can’t wait ‘til the next time around!</p> <p> </p> <div style="padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px" id="scid:66721397-FF69-4ca6-AEC4-17E6B3208830:f7c04960-ec46-4a57-abe2-be1cd583dff2" class="wlWriterEditableSmartContent"><a style="border:0px" href="https://cid-5e66274d02663d0a.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=browse&resid=5E66274D02663D0A!180&type=5&authkey=v3POJxsRtJo%24"><img style="border:0px" alt="View The Lake" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TDZx18jYQaI/AAAAAAAABx8/xWfk09F9kic/InlineRepresentationa35bac7e55944e84.jpg?imgmax=800" /></a><div style="width:400px;text-align:right;" ><a href="https://cid-5e66274d02663d0a.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=browse&resid=5E66274D02663D0A!180&type=5&authkey=v3POJxsRtJo%24">View Full Album</a></div></div> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-16396283370398227682010-07-03T09:50:00.000-04:002010-07-03T09:59:45.638-04:00N.Lo ~ Summer Reading<p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TC9CTZTl7dI/AAAAAAAABxs/tVqqvgKdLps/s1600-h/P1050826%5B4%5D.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="P1050826" border="0" alt="P1050826" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SQyYb36WfMk/TC9CUOT5EaI/AAAAAAAABxw/vR77MPqB8j0/P1050826_thumb%5B2%5D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="302" height="392" /></a></p> penhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00371508831932311522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6800911942747141201.post-37688744308425894502010-07-03T09:45:00.000-04:002010-07-03T09:53:12.029-04:00Favorite Recent Quotes, 2<p>Both employees, about bushes that apparently “look like pickles!
