For the longest time, K.Lo did not address Management by name, at least not directly. The CEO, yes; The Manager, no. I try not to take things like this personally, because a realistic manager should not so much expect a new employee to have mastered skills like... empathy. In fact, true empathy, particularly toward Management, might not come for years and years. Again, I digress.

Lately, K.Lo has begun to address both Mangement and the CEO in crystal-clear terms, and even more recently, will call for both the CEO and I upon waking from The Night Shift. I can't help it, I'm completely charmed by the small voice next door requesting our presence. Also, who can resist such moments as during meals, when she looks up suddenly and shouts, "Mommy!" with approximately 50,000 watts of exclamation. To which I obviously reply, "K.Lo!" with equal excitement.

That's wonderful! I'm sorry it took so long, but it's totally worth it once it starts happening. Until you get to the incessant whining name calling. But, it is hard not to have a smile and feel your heart swell when you are called and know you are needed.
