We have formally, officially reached the stage of “Why?” here at the Lo.Co. It has the potential to drive me a little *loco,* I admit, but so far, there are far worse habits we encounter throughout the work day. In fact, I daresay that responding can sometimes be fun, and challenging in a good way. Managers must note that they possess the power to steer these “why?” conversations down any given path. It’s a little bit like Choose Your Adventure: Preschool Edition. Since the conversation isn’t likely to end anytime soon, I suggest taking your time with responses, lest you get into tricky territory, when you could have just as easily remained in Mundane-ville. Mundane-ville is a nice, easy place to stay. Or sometimes, for entertainment purposes, it’s more fun to lead the child down a wilder path… really, it’s all up to you. Every once in a while, I like to finish with a good zinger, such as, “Because K.Lo’s a monkey!” followed by appropriate monkey noises and some tickling. This approach typically satisfies the employee for a good 60 seconds, at least.

ah, the never-ending circle of "why" - it can be fun to see what kind of answers you come up with. So far, "that's how God made it" has managed to end things for us. We'll see how long that lasts!
