Our Regional Manager drove down to see us recently, and the entire office enjoyed the visit. We embarked on several daytime excursions to local shopping centers, with lunches at J.Michael's Philly Deli and The Atlanta Bread Company, as well as cafe mocha pick-me-ups at Starbucks. Our employees performed well on The Night Shift while we watched a handful of Managerial Training Vidoes. Company dinners included homemade lasagna, and pizza--ham and onion pizza. The CEO advised that ham and onion would be a tasty combination to order, and while initially repulsed, the rest of us consented to try the toppings on half.

It seems that ham and onion together on a pizza are actually brilliant, something everyone should try.

The RM assisted in several managerial tasks, including the Great Shoe Hunt and the styling of K.Lo's pigtails, and also took on an office renovation project, painting our hallway and conference room ceilings. Both ceilings now look fresh and clean, leaving the CEO and I to breathe sighs of relief we didn't even know we were holding in. The RM advised that perhaps, in the future, I should dust the ceiling fan more than, say, once a year, or at least not wait until the thing is so gunked up that giant wads of dirt begin raining from the ceiling, and there is absolutely no choice but to clean the fan. That might keep everything nicer, the ceiling fresh. While I balk at regularly dusting anything higher than I can reach standing on my tiptoes, I concede she might be right.

My Welcoming Committee skills did fall short in at least a few areas, as I once again left a slew of office supplies scattered in the Employee Bath, and perhaps could have offered a better and earlier company breakfast. However, the Regional Manager remained patient. After a morning excursion to Target and Costco, we were all sad to see off the RM this afternoon, particularly K.Lo, but it did help a little to stand at the door and wave, "Bye-bye."
