After an unusually productive Night Shift, K.Lo clocked in this morning apparently now able to speak full sentences. The cable was out in the Conference Room, and she commented, "It's not working. Try it again?" I may suggest she apply for the IT position within our company.
As a manager, though, I am consistently impressed with skill set improvements that seem to happen overnight. Suddenly she is organizing her desk toys into little scenes, like with the people sitting in their chairs around a campfire. Or seeing off the CEO on his way out the door, waving and saying, "Bye-bye! See you in a little while! Have fun!" Or pouring water from tiny cup to tiny cup with her tea set. Or sprawling out on the floor on her stomach with a box of crayons and some paper, choosing this work position all on her own.
Employees just move up the ranks in a company way too fast.
